About Christophe Gaugué

Violist Christophe Gaugué has gained recognition for chamber music performances with Trio Wanderer and for solo work with various orchestras. Gaugué was on the faculty at the Conservatoire a Rayonnement Régionale de Paris before joining the Conservatoire Nationale Supérieure de Musique as an assistant professor. He has performed solo viola works by Philippe Fénelon, Andréas Fervers, and Igor Stravinsky. Gaugué's recording career began in 1999 with an appearance on an album featuring works by Alain Krotenberg. He has recorded with Trio Wanderer and other chamber groups, including the Quatuor Élysée on a 2012 album of youthful chamber music by Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky. In 2020, he joined Trio Wanderer on an album of chamber music by Shostakovich; the same ensemble returned in 2021 with an album of the complete trios, quartets, and quintet of Robert Schumann.
