About Chris Pierce
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I started writing songs and performing at a very young age. One of my earliest musical memories was singing on a television show hosted by Natalie Cole. Other early musical memories include touring with both Jon Butcher and Sonia Dada. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Neil Young, Harvest Richie Havens, Mixed Bag Tracy Chapman, Tracy Chapman Tracy Chapman (Tracy Chapman), Mixed Bag (Richie Havens) and Harvest (Neil Young) are all incredible albums from front to back. They all highly influenced me as a young songwriter and opened up so many possibilities. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “We Can Always Come Back to This” I originally co/wrote this song for the television show THIS IS US. It ended up airing on 3 episodes and was nominated for 'Best Song Written for TV or Film'. I had the honor of performing the song with the Emmy orchestra at The Television Academy. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Over the years, I've had the honor of sharing stages with Neil Young, B.B. King, Seal, Al Green, Allison Russell, Ramblin’ Jack Elliot, Rodrigo y Gabriella, Jill Scott, Blind Boys of Alabama, and Aaron Neville as the special guest opener. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? In 2017, I co/wrote a song called “We Can Always Come Back to This” that aired on 3 episodes of the #1 NBC primetime series ‘THIS IS US,' then went on to #1 on the Billboard Blues Chart. I'd love to expand on that and score a major motion picture.
