Caroline Trettine

About Caroline Trettine

b. Caroline Halcrow. Former Blue Aeroplanes member Trettine left the group in 1987 (where she appeared under her real name) and forged a solo career as an acoustic guitar-playing singer-songwriter in the mould of Joni Mitchell and contemporary Tanita Tikaram. Her strength lay in the haunting and melancholic style of such songs as ‘Sleep With Me’ and ‘Guilty, Imagination And Turning’. She signed to Billy Bragg’s reactivated Utility label, recording one mini-album with assistance from Nick Jacobs (electric guitar), Ian Kearey (electric and acoustic guitar) and Tone Bank (drums). Her later live performances in London drew much critical praise upon which she has yet to capitalize.
