About Callahan Brothers

The Callahan Brothers’ vocal harmonies and clever duet yodelling were first recorded in 1934 by ARC (American Record Company) in New York; the session included "She’s My Curly Headed Baby," a song that would become their signature song. At a time when brother duet acts were all the rage in the south, the Callahan Brothers made a name for themselves, carving an eclectic niche with a blend of gospel, folk and traditional country. When Walter retired in 1937, Homer moved to Cincinnati, where he worked with Red Foley and the Coon Creek Girls. Walter later rejoined his brother and they recorded together into the '50s.
