About Buildings and Food

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memory is actually the earliest memory of my life. I was 3 years old in preschool where I learned a song about putting a strawberry in my pocket. I remember walking through a tunnel while singing it - wait maybe that was a dream. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Boards of Canada, The Campfire Headphase Leafcutter John, Yes! Come Parade with Us Three of my favourite electronic albums from the past few decades. All have provided endless hours of listening pleasure and so much inspiration for me. I also love hip hop, classical, jazz and pop music but there's just not enough room here... Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Swimming in Denton” This song is special to me because I wrote it in honour of the late Zach Denton, member of Melbourne's The Ocean Party and Ciggie Witch, who died in 2018. His music was a great inspiration to me and this song is all about my love for his music. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I had the great pleasure of having an ear in Chris Difford, when he agreed to have a listen to my first album before it was released. Being a big early Squeeze fan, it was an honour for me! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I'd love to have Buildings and Food music appear in a Wes Anderson film. Or the next Little Big Planet.
