In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The first time I ever performed before a live audience was when I was only nine years old. My father took me to a local jazz club in L.A. to listen to a group of his friends performing, and I got to sit in on the drums. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Chick Corea Akoustic Band, Chick Corea Akoustic Band Pat Metheny Group, Pat Metheny Group Yes, Close to the Edge These three albums have had a profound effect on me as a musician and they represent the eclectic influences of jazz, fusion, and progressive rock on me. Of course, there are many more that I love, but these are special to me...they transcend time. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Standing in the Midst” 'Standing in the Midst' is perhaps one of my best works and I just love the composition. It's moving, ambient, and enigmatic with a beautiful refrain and solo at the end. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Having a couple of my favorite artists, Jean-Luc Ponty and Paul Wertico (Pat Metheny Group), that I've admired for many years say such kind and gracious words about my music was a true pinnacle moment in my career. I am so honored and thankful.
