About Brad San Martin

Brad San Martin is a Boston-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who co-founded the indie pop mini-orchestra One Happy Island in 2007. The band became better known outside of the U.S., recording for a number of established indie pop and twee labels like WeePop! and Odd Box Records along with artists like Colin Clary and the Smittens. In 2009, he made his first solo venture, releasing a self-titled EP under the name Secret Charisma. Several more well-received releases by One Happy Island followed before San Martin made his next solo attempt, this time dropping the Secret Charisma moniker and using his own name. Inspired by classic pop artists like Van Dyke Parks and Harry Nilsson, yet assembled in his own, pleasantly ramshackle manner, San Martin's solo album debut, Tell Someone, was released by Jigsaw Records in late 2015. Two years later, he returned with Shoot Tomorrow/Learn Tonight, which featured contributions from Mitch Easter, Kevin Dunn, and Pete Weiss. ~ Timothy Monger
