About Boonie Mayfield

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My 1st concert was Michael Jackson (1988). As a naive 5 year old, I assumed we'd go to a subway station and see the "Bad" video happen in person. NOPE! The arena and pyrotechnics scared me all night. But hey, at least I can say I saw MJ live. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? D'Angelo, Voodoo Marvin Gaye, What's Going On Pink Floyd, The Dark Side of the Moon Remastered I LOVE concept albums that bring listeners into their own worlds; especially when it has its own distinctive sound and aesthetic apart from other projects. These 3 albums give me the same feeling as watching my favorite films. It's an experience. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Dream a Mile High” I made this after a 3-year hiatus from music due to burnout and depression. My hometown is a mile high above sea level (Colorado, USA). So it's a self-encouragement song to keep dreaming as big as I did before I moved to the big city of Los Angeles. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Co-creating a self-made musical comedy show with my wife called, "Boon TV" on YouTube. We produced the entire pilot episode by ourselves from home during the pandemic. What we were able to do with no help and a tiny budget is MIND BLOWING! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Working with Danny Elfman, Quentin Tarantino and Bootsy Collins.
