Bonfire Madigan

About Bonfire Madigan

San Francisco chamber-punk trio Bonfire Madigan was led by vocalist/cellist Madigan Shive, who first surfaced at 16 as one half of the famed Seattle acoustic pop duo Tattle Tale. From there she formed her own label, Moonpuss, and in 1995 issued the solo 7" Plays with Herself; the live cassette ForTunes from the F-Holes followed a year later, as did the studio LP Rock Stop. Shive formed Bonfire Madigan with contrabassist Sheri Ozeki and percussionist/turntablist Tomas, debuting with the 1998 Kill Rock Stars single "Backseat Buoy"; the full-length ...From the Burnpile followed later that year, and in 2000 the group -- now also including guitarist Shelley Doty and drummer Sunshine Haire -- resurfaced with Saddle the Bridge. ~ Jason Ankeny
