Knowing I couldn't write or spell anything, my mom was curious to see what I'd come up with. I ended up drawing a musical note on a small piece of paper. Bon Iver, 22, A Million Paul Simon, Graceland The Weepies, Say I Am You As a folk musician, I am completely enamored by the way these people write lyrics. Being able to portray such strong emotions through writing is an innately human artistic skill that is the backbone of contemporary music, let along folk music.
