About Bird Mancini

Boston, MA's Bird Mancini combines the talents of four veteran musicians to create a cross between jazzy blues and rock & roll. The group's name comes from vocalist and keyboardist Ruby Bird and guitarist Billy Carl Mancini, both of the Sky Blues. The rhythm section is made up of Bangalore's Sven Larson on bass, and David Roy Kulik of the Roys and Four Piece Suit on drums. Bird Mancini released their debut album in 2002 on Second Story Productions. The record includes guest appearances by Boston luminaries "Sax" Gordon Beadle; Dan Kellar of Tar Box Ramblers; and Phil Kaplan of Men & Volts, Bangalore, and the Funeral Barkers. ~ Charles Spano
