In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Two core memories: 1) the joy I felt hearing the Sesame Street masterpiece "Put Down the Duckie!" for the first time, and 2) listening to my dad pound away on the piano while singing his daily rendition of "Sweet Home Chicago". What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Dave Matthews Band, Under the Table and Dreaming John Coltrane, A Love Supreme: The Complete Masters (Super Deluxe Edition) Josef Krips, London Symphony Orchestra, Beethoven: The Complete Symphony Collection In Beethoven's symphonies, I find the penultimate example of math and order becoming life and chaos. With Coltrane, almost the opposite - ultimate chaos becomes music and finds unexpected order. With Dave, I remember to enjoy the whole spectrum. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? It's less of a single moment, and more of a recurring one: it's when someone has listens to the music I make and it becomes theirs. Witnessing the shift from "my song" to "their song" feels like a miracle of communion and fills me with joy. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? This musician's bucket list is growing faster than is getting checked off, and that's the way I like it. I'll be reaching for new heights every step of the way regardless of whether or not I reach them before the end.
