Belong

Since forming in 2002, New Orleans-based experimental duo Belong have been slowly, sporadically, and incrementally expanding their approach to textural sound. Consisting of Turk Dietrich and Michael Jones, Belong's 2006 debut October Language was a landmark ambient album, with dense, formless soundscapes built from deep layers of guitars, synthesizers, vocals, and other sounds processed into oblivion. The band took a turn toward more traditional song structures on their 2011 album Common Era, and delivered even more refined shoegaze-modeled songs over a decade later on their third full-length, Realistic IX.
