Barnett & Coloccia

A meeting of two of American experimental music's finest minds, Barnett & Coloccia comprises Mamiffer's Faith Coloccia and Oakeater's Alex Barnett. Aside from this project, each member of the duo is prolific as a collaborator and as an individual. For Barnett & Coloccia, the pair decided to record together in person rather than collaborate online despite the thousands of miles separating them. A three-day session at Vancouver's Otic Sound studio and further mixing at Seattle's AVAST! studio resulted in the duo's debut, Retrieval, which spanned noise, electronic, and psychedelic elements. Blackest Ever Black released the album late in 2013. ~ Heather Phares
