In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember watching Barbie movies as a kid and being amazed by the music. The first song I ever wrote (at around 7) was just a bunch of words that I wrote over a song from The Barbie Diaries. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Ben Abraham, Friendly Fire JP Saxe, Dangerous Levels of Introspection Lizzy McAlpine, Give Me A Minute JP Saxe is one of my favourite songwriters because his writing is conversational but heart wrenching. I've cried to this album many times. I think Give Me a Minute saved my life during the pandemic. Ben Abraham can do no wrong in my eyes. He always asked me to sing for hime and loved watching birds so when he died, I hoped he was with the birds he loved so much. Kanyoni, which means little bird in Kikuyu, is my farewell to him.
