About Ausar

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was just 7 when I wrote my first song. My mom was watching a sermon on TV and for some reason, it inspired me to write. When I went off to work on it, I remember my mother being so surprised that I took the time to do it. Now, it's all I do. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Anderson .Paak, Malibu Lauryn Hill, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill Lupe Fiasco, Lupe Fiasco's The Cool These albums have always stuck with me — I fell in love with them. They taught me how to genre bend, how to be a poet, exposed me to instrumentation, and described the surroundings of the environment I was in. They changed the way I view music. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Untitled” This song was the first time I was truly vulnerable in a way that other people resonated with. It laid the groundwork for me to be more vulnerable in my music moving forward. It’s not my most popular song, but the people who love it, love it. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I've been a lifelong Chicago Bulls fan so becoming the Bull's Spotlight Artist was a really cool full-circle moment. I also brought my mom and it was one of the first times I could see she was really proud of an accomplishment I had in music. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to have a sold-out tour. I want to perform in a stadium in Chicago. I want to make music with André 3000 and Jazmine Sullivan. I want to do Lollapalooza. I feel like I am just now touching the surface of all the things I want to achieve.
