About Alana Fairchild

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My childhood memories are strewn with music. My father liked Hot August Night by Neil Diamond. My elder brother loved punk acts like the Lime Spiders. My mother loved techno and house. I was obsessed with listening to Beethoven during thunderstorms. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Best of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan I've always loved devotional music, but listening to his fervour instantly grounded my eclectic musical tastes into a single purpose - to express my life(times)-long passion for spirituality openly, and hopefully also beneficially. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Kali: Santuary in the Heart of Our Wild Madonna” As a schoolgirl I saw a picture of Kali and felt an instant connection with her, which my child's mind never questioned. Her protection during dark times and her fierce compassion inspire my trust and devotion. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The creative process for the Rumi Nowruz album began with a spiritual experience of oneness with Rumi in meditation, led to me writing an oracle deck and album of meditations devoted to him, and then this album. Every step has felt divinely guided. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? My creative flow is consistent and I can never keep up with it! So there is always some beautiful offering waiting to be birthed. I want to share as much sacred beauty and meaning as I can with this precious gift of my life.
