I grew up in Havana listening to Louis Armstrong, Pablo Milanes, Silvio Rodriguez, Miriam Makeba, Michel Legrand and Alla Pugacheva. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Esbjörn Svensson Trio, Seven Days of Falling Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Inner Voyage Paco de Lucía, Zyryab I have chosen these three albums because of the whirlwind of emotions they generate. Tell us why you chose this song. “Elias Malogrado Genio” I transcribed it from my guitar mentor, Jose Antonio (Ñico) Rojas. It was dedicated to his friend, an incredibly gifted musician who passed away way before his time. The style of the piece is the Danzón, Cuba's official musical genre and dance. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Performing at the Royal Albert Hall, at the Wigmore Hall, sharing a concert with Omara Portuondo in Havana, performing filin music for César Portillo de la Lúz and Ñico Rojas.
