About Aceyalone
With imaginative, next-level lyricism and an off-kilter flow, Aceyalone gained respect as a founding member of the Freestyle Fellowship. After two albums with the FF, Acey contributed to the Project Blowed compilation in 1994, releasing his acclaimed solo debut, All Balls Don't Bounce, a year later. Constantly active, he formed side groups with Mikah 9 and Abstract Rude (Haiku D’Etat and the A-Team) and recorded collaborative records with producer Mumbles (1998’s A History of Human Language) and RJD2 (2006’s Magnificent City). Taking cues from East Coast counterparts De La Soul and Kool Keith, Aceyalone endures with his brand of brainy, decidedly anti-gangsta West Coast hip-hop. ~ Matt Rinaldi
