About Ro Ransom

Genre-bending rapper and singer Ro Ransom is nicknamed “the Mystery Boy”—you never really know what he’s going to do next. • The New York City native is from a musical family. His father played drums for Whitney Houston, among others. • Ransom first put pen to paper in the sixth grade. By 15, he’d officially dubbed himself a rapper and begun releasing music under the moniker Nero. • After changing his name to Ro Ransom, he dropped his 2012 mixtape Ransomnia, which served as an introduction to his new and refined rap sound. • Ransom took a brief hiatus from rap before delivering Ro Ransom is the Future in 2014. Lead single “See Me Fall” received a viral remix from producer Y2K, which helped Ransom cross over from underground to mainstream. • He cowrote “Let’s Go” for Khalid’s 2017 album American Teen. That same year, he featured on Jazz Cartier and Mike WiLL Made-It’s “Made a Mess.” • Shortly after signing to Same Plate Records, Ransom released his 2018 label debut Possessed, featuring the popular ’90s-R&B–influenced single “Wraith.”
