About Big Boi
Big Boi is a rapper and producer best known for spitting rapid-fire bars as one-half of the wildly influential hip-hop duo OutKast. • He met future OutKast bandmate André 3000 while attending Tri-Cities High School in Atlanta. The duo signed with LaFace Records in 1992 and enjoyed widespread critical and commercial success with their first four albums. • OutKast’s blockbuster 2003 double album Speakerboxxx/The Love Below was essentially two solo albums packaged together. It spawned two chart-topping US singles (one being Big Boi’s “The Way You Move”) and reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200. It also won the Grammy for Album of the Year. • In 2010, Big Boi made his solo debut with the album Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, which includes special guests Jamie Foxx, Gucci Mane, Janelle Monae, T.I., Bun B, and B.o.B. • His 2012 sophomore effort, Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumours, featured more contemporary artists, such as Kid Cudi, A$AP Rocky, Theophilus London, Little Dragon, Wavves, and Phantogram. • Guests ranging from Adam Levine to Gucci Mane turn up on Big Boi’s 2017 album BOOMIVERSE.
