About 100 gecs
Inspired by the internet culture that’s always been a part of their lives, the hyperpop duo 100 gecs create a unique sonic melange of trance, emo, dubstep, ska, metal, pop-punk, and much more.
• Dylan Brady and Laura Les met at a high school house party in suburban St. Louis. A few years later, in 2015, after Brady had moved to L.A. and Les had gone off to college in Chicago, they teamed up to record a self-titled EP.
• Brady and Les restarted the project in 2019, when they performed at a virtual music festival within the video game Minecraft.
• 100 gecs released their debut album, 1000 gecs, in 2019. New York Times critic Jon Caramanica named the blown-out genre grab bag his top album of the year.
• The group returned in 2020 with 1000 gecs and the Tree of Clues, an album consisting mainly of remixes. Guests include Charli XCX, Rico Nasty, and Fall Out Boy.
