Steven Sloane

Conductor Steven Sloane has built a career that is international and versatile to an unusual degree. Equally active in concert music and opera, he has championed contemporary music through his long association with the Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, South Carolina. He has a long list of recording credits with the various orchestras he has headed, and he continued to work with the Bochum Symphony after stepping down from his post there. In 2025, he released a recording of George Antheil's Venus in Africa with that group.
