Back To The Game

Back To The Game

Armed with a cipher-honed flow and a no-nonsense attitude, Tempo has been holding it down for Puerto Rican hip-hop since the late ’90s. Back to the Game is the rapper's first major project since the 2013 mixtape Free Music, which itself followed a 2009 breakthrough album released during a decade-long stint in prison. Despite the setbacks and delays, Tempo's mic skills remain ferociously battle-ready over an array of unpredictable beats. He rides Latin trap production on the vicious “Yo Corono," crafts a banging reggaetón/hip-hop hybrid with "Pégate a la Pared," dips into dancehall on “Ahora Si Mami 2," and pays tribute to old-school rap with the poignant, piano-driven “Yo Tengo Que Continuar.”
