Verbier Festival - 25 Years of Excellence

For the past 25 years, the Verbier Festival, held in a Swiss Alpine village, has attracted the greatest names in classical music. Here is just a tiny snapshot of the annual delights on offer, including a rich, indulgent Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 6 under Valery Gergiev, pianist Yuja Wang’s technically astonishing Mendelssohn Piano Concerto No. 1, and a Brahms Piano Trio No. 1 featuring a dream team of pianist Daniil Trifonov, violinist Ilya Gringolts, and cellist Truls Mørk. There’s even a truncated Wagner Die Walküre tucked in at the end—with Bryn Terfel in top tragic-heroic form as Wotan. A feast for the ears.
