Editors’ Notes Reconciling the past with the present is a tricky feat for a 21st-century crew of bluegrass traditionalists, but Joe Mullins and co. manage it expertly here. On one end of the spectrum, the group dig their chops into vintage country tunes like Merle Haggard's mournful "I Could Have Gone Right" and The Delmore Brothers' gospel-tinged "The Last Old Shovel." On the other, they display their ability to bring an old-school feel to the present moment on modern tunes like “Long Gone Out West Blues.”
