Tim Easton is a journeyman Americana singer/songwriter who's logged hours on the road and earned plenty of experience (if not riches) for his efforts. Over the years, his voice has grown weathered and his songwriting has reflected his artistic growth. For a performer working a narrow and well-traveled genre, Easton has carved out his own territory by consistently improving his songs. This anthology sums up his career from his earliest solo days after departing The Haynes Boys through to 2011's Beat the Band album with The Freelan Barons and Since 1966 | Volume 1. The powerful "All the Pretty Girls Leave Town" from his Orchard Records debut album, Special 20, explains why the esteemed alt-country New West record label signed him to a multi-album deal. Each of his New West studio albums is represented here by at least three tunes, making this a perfect career sampler with all the necessary highlights in one place.
