The boy choristers of Winchester College take ancient music and give it a modern twist with the help of composer David Lol Perry. Around the 14th-century music of monks and nuns, Perry weaves a 21st-century counterpoint using both acoustic and electronic sounds. Music director Malcolm Archer’s pure-voiced choristers spin out the long melodic lines with a fresh-faced innocence that perfectly conveys the words’ unequivocal Christian faith, while Perry’s musical reflections add a new dimension to this old music.
