Best known for his appearance on Yo Gotti's Cocaine Muzik mixtape series, South Memphis emcee Zed Zilla is looking to blow up in his own right. Hosted by Big Rankin, Rent's Due finds Zed reconnecting with Gotti on a pair of joints ("Bands" and "Fire Dis B*tch"), plus Young Dolph on "Detox" and "I'm Blowin'." Big, brash Southern production is the order of the day here, with glutinous bass lines, flamboyant synth-horns, club-ready claps, and machine-gun snares on just about every track. It's topped with the requisite rhymes about partying ("Kush & Drank") and dealing with enemies ("Start Shootin"). There are quite a few quality jams, and his raspy style combined with ultra-cocky wordplay makes for an entertaining listen. Don't miss the single "Gettin' Gwala," plus "I Rather B Wit U" and the bonus tracks "Dope Flow" and "No Chorus."
