Prolific film music composer D. Imman has produced a roller-coaster ride of a soundtrack to complement Tamil action thriller Poikkal Kuthirai. There’s an explosive festive anthem in “Singleu”, a whimsical dance number in “Kanneeraey” and an earnest romantic ballad in “Chellamey” before Imman turns up the tempo with the electric guitar-led “Thadai Udayatha”—a frenzy of catchy choruses, vocal histrionics and thunderous rock percussion. Another album highlight, “Vazhi Ithuthaano”, marries influences of modern jazz-pop and other Western styles with a soaring Tamil voice.
