Pa' los Amigos

Pa' los Amigos

Mexico has always produced its share of musical dynasties. Long before Canelos Jrs was formed, some of the members’ fathers played in the iconic norteño band Los Canelos de Durango. The Jrs’ sound embraces the same elegance so prized by Los Canelos, and the corridos of Pa’ los Amigos have a graceful beauty that’s not particularly common among their more go-for-broke peers. There’s a soulfulness and simplicity to the album’s most striking moments, whether sweet (“Tengo Amistades”) or poignant ( “El Doble R”).
