Veteran electric bassist Andy Galore has been playing around New York City as well as touring the world for the last 20 years. Finally making his debut as a leader, he calls in guitarists Mike Stern and Oz Noy as well as eight different keyboardists and others to highlight his versatility. Of the six originals, “23rd Street Blues” is a playful jam, while “Fingerprints” has a melodic groove and the slinky ballad “Can You Undo This for Me?” recalls early-‘80s Miles Davis. Galore offers a fresh perspective with his electric blues take on Mingus’s “Goodbye Pork Pie Hat” and a bristling fusion approach to the classic “Freedom Jazz Dance.”
