A native of San Francisco's Fillmore district, J. Valentine has been making music for most of his life. He started out singing with his brothers in a childhood group called The Newtrons, and for many years was the Bay Area's go-to guy for R&B hooks. He has written hit singles for Omarion, Mario, and N'Sync (among many others), has his own production company (Song Dynasty), and founded the indie label CityBoyZ Music, which has dropped huge regional singles like "Go Dumb" and "She Worth the Trouble." Love & Other Drugs is the follow-up to his well-received 2010 album The Testimony, and it finds him in top form, serving up seven new songs dripping with lush production and sensual crooning.
