Illuminate - EP Makeshift Prodigy

I was one of the lucky ones to preview this album at the band's listening party in Chicago a couple of weeks ago.

As a longtime fan of the local Chicago scene, I am proud of how this band represents the talent that comes out of this city. Most bands lose their identity when signing with a major label but this is not the case. I feel like Atlantic helped them reach another level and that it could only go even higher from here.

The lead singers voice is nothing like I've heard today and yet can fit perfectly on the radio. Stand out songs for me are Chasing Daylight and the heart breaking Miracle.

Take my advice: buy this EP now. Then you can be hipster about it later when you brag that you owned their album before they got big.

With the process being as difficult as it is to produce such a professional album, Makeshift Prodigy obviously spent the most of their signed career with Atlantic to make that process look easy. . Clearly the ability to write, record, produce, and market great music comes second nature to this crew. I implore you to listen to the entire album in order on your own and you will not be displeased. Cheers!

I feel like almost anything that would be considered 'rock' music in the current music scene (and even of the last 5 or so years) is really lacking. These guys have figured out how to make rock music listenable by a large audience once again. This is a rock record that girls will like!!
