Swedish synth-pop brain trust Miike Snow is one of the freshest and most unusual bands to find footing in the '10s. Built by producers Bloodshy & Avant (of Britney Spears’ “Toxic”) and vocalist/frontman Andrew Wyatt (whose credits include everything from museum installations to Bruno Mars co-writes), the band’s third album carefully tuned to sharp hooks and anthemic choruses as well as nitpicky details of sound design. That approach makes cool, slithering songs like “Genghis Khan” or the cybernetic Charli XCX duet “For U” as alluring on headphones as they would be on speakers at the club.
