Child's Play

Child's Play

Despite all pandemic odds, folk singer-songwriter Alice Phoebe Lou traveled to Vancouver Island, Canada, to track her fourth studio album, Child’s Play, after initially having to put her plans on hold. Alongside her producer David Parry and longtime friends and collaborators Ziv and Daklis, the album was recorded using an eight-track tape machine, giving it a vintage feel that only further serves to complement the whimsical compositions. Using simple acoustic guitar melodies (“Sweet,” “Let Me”) and uncomplicated drum lines (“Me & the Moon,” “Care”), Alice traverses the everyday experience of a life longing to be truly lived.
