This album finds U.S.-based Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo as pianist, joining a small instrumental ensemble and the Choir of Royal Holloway, directed by Rupert Gough, in 15 tracks on a wintry/Christmassy theme. Original compositions and arrangements of much-loved carols create a wonderfully heartwarming atmosphere—the aural equivalent, perhaps, of curling up in front of a fire. The harmonies seduce and the fresh voices of the Choir of Royal Holloway are a delight.
