HERD IMMUNITY 1.0

HERD IMMUNITY 1.0

How much do we really know about Sean Leon? Fans who’ve been tracking his ascent might be aware that he's already collaborated with names like Justin Bieber and Daniel Caesar (to name a few), but what has he told us about himself recently? Not much—especially if you missed 2021’s self-released God’s Algorithm project. However, HERD IMMUNITY is here to fix that. Over the course of the project’s seven tracks, Leon explains himself to be something of a “black sheep,” detailing the effects his presence can have on women (“Y OFC”), how different he is from other artists (“DEBIT”), and how he’ll never doubt his worth (“CURBS”). Closing out the set, there’s a spoken-word piece called “BLACK SHEEP OUTRO” that gets a little deeper into the characterization: “To me being a black sheep is about challenging the status quo,” one of several uncredited voices on the track says. “It’s about freedom. It’s about being able to ignore societal constructs, being able to take control of my own destiny, being able to find my own path.” On the expanded HERD IMMUNITY 1.0, he adds another five tracks that offer additional insight into his artistry and worldview. The artist now known as Ye himself leads the way on the incendiary collab “BURN EVERYTHING” before Leon steps up to match his energy and lyrical defiance. On his own, he deals in blunt braggadocio (“SOF FREESTYLE”), aggressive world building (“GG”), and casual confidence (“TOP GUN”).
