Grinderman 2 Rmx

Grinderman 2 Rmx

This collection of remixes of tracks from Grinderman's second album may be the last we hear from Grinderman for some time; leader Nick Cave told an audience they wouldn't be back for at least 10 years. Bad Seed Barry Adamson works over "Palaces of Montezuma," giving it more air and space, but it's Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Nick Zinner who pulls apart "Bellringer Blues" until it bleeds new blood. Many of these remixes have been issued elsewhere, with Zinner's remix and SixToes' reworking of "When My Baby Comes" being the two exclusives. "Evil" gets three workouts, one from Grinderman itself and others from Factory Floor and Silver Alert (featuring The National's Matt Berninger). Robert Fripp adds his guitar to "Super Heathen Child." Queens of the Stone Age's Joshua Homme roughs up "Mickey Bloody Mouse." Cat's Eyes substitutes Cave's original vocal for Rachel Zeffira's ethereal vibe. The mixes that pay the least amount of respect to the originals deliver the best results.
