Later...When the TV Turns to Static (Deluxe Edition)

The third studio album by Scotland’s Glasvegas continues in the tradition of its previous work. Various label scuffles have only hardened the band’s resolve to stick to its stylistic guns. It's a world of frustration for a band that writes for the arenas but is marketed to alternative clubs. Of course, the music industry’s failure to help most artists have long, fulfilling careers has been going on since the days of early U2, and Glasvegas’ James Allan is still doing everything he can to reach the heart of his listeners. “Choices” is a heartbreaking piece of slowly paced epic grandeur, a piano ballad that hugs the neon glow of the night. “All I Want Is My Baby” aches with the romantic desires of a young, obsessed gentleman. “If,” another windswept ballad, again feels as if the band can’t live without its connection to an audience. “Finished Sympathy” completes the standard album, with a hidden instrumental coda. The deluxe version adds eight revealing tracks, including five early versions of songs from the album and three previously unreleased bonus tracks.
