On an EP named after a romance manga, TWINKIDS—pianist/producer Matt Young and singer/songwriter Gene Fukui—make sumptuously textured, deeply melodic electronic pop that’s as woozy as desire itself. The speedy house beats and hyperactive synths of “Ponte Vedra” flutter like butterflies in the stomach; the Japanese-language sophisti-pop of “Love Story Wa Totsuzen Ni” will connect with slow-dancing lovers no matter their native tongue. And the slinky house of “Overdressed,” playing Fukui’s heavenly falsetto off Young’s futuristic electronics, is as tender as it is energetic.
