When The Silver Bullet Band took the stage in 1976 for the now-classic 'Live' Bullet, Bob Seger was a workingman’s musician with little truck outside Detroit. By Nine Tonight—only five years later—he was a legitimate star with three Top 10 albums, the material from which came to define his career: “Fire Lake,” “Hollywood Nights,” “Against the Wind,” the indelible “Night Moves.” Not that the band gussied up their approach much. Here, they sound as wild and gritty as they did when they still had everything to prove.
