Cooperville

Cooperville

Since the release of her first single “Isiphithiphithi” in 2021, Pabi Cooper’s work has always been driven by collaboration. In her platinum-certified single “Banyana Ke Bafana”, which concludes Cooperville, she features Pretoria’s finest on Focalistic and Ch’cco. In her first EP, the Soshanguve-born dancer and artist ropes in a wide range of artists and producers who bring in their own flavours while showcasing the different facets of Pabi Cooper. Hip-hop star Blxckie lends his effortless vocals on “Intro” alongside Pabi’s frequent collaborators Ch’cco, Yumba & Crush, while Mellow & Sleazy’s bacardi house-infused amapiano production carries “Waga Bietjie”, where Pabi Cooper drops ice-cold raps over the duo’s minimalist instrumental. On “Angeke”, she handles the hook and leaves most of the rapping to Kammu Dee and Semi Tee. On “Mama”, she is assisted by Khanyisa, Yumbs and Liebah for a vocal dedication to her mother. With all these guests, she still maintains an undeniable presence; welcome to the world of Pabi Cooper, welcome to Cooperville.
