London singer-songwriter Thomas Headon’s first Apple Music Home Session features an acoustic cover of one of his favorite pop songs, performed each night of his headline UK tour in 2021. “It was so good to hear crowds sing it every night,” he says of Taylor Swift’s 2012 blockbuster “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” “And I really wanted another chance to play this again. Even being able to go out and see shows, whether they be random gigs or friends of mine, I’m stoked that it’s such a normal experience now and not the endless list of things you needed to check before going out.” Alongside his spin on Swift’s chart-topper, Headon arranges rousing takes of singles from 2022’s five-track project Victoria. Detailing the awkward intricacies of relationships and the passions of a secret tryst, “Nobody Has to Know” and the EP’s title track are reimagined here with rousing, stripped-back performances. “They’re the first and last songs I released from this project,” he says. “And they’re also my favorites [on the EP].”
