Abnocto

Abnocto

Taking its name from the Latin for “out all night,” the second album from producer Andrew Armstrong and vocalist Ra Black, Abnocto, is a collection of bombastic, synth-driven indie pop that will appeal to fans of Bastille, Twin Shadow, and Miike Snow. While Black proves his charisma as a frontman on the triumphant, ‘90s electronica-inspired “Dancing in the Corner,” Armstrong’s ambitious arrangements employ everything from ultra-serious spoken-word intros to classic studio flourishes—like filtering Black’s soulful vocals into a humming, Imogen Heap–style pile-up on “Almost Human.”
