Having set a high bar with their darkly themed corridos on 2021’s Halloween-timed Paranormal EP, Grupo Diez 4tro return with the comparatively longer and like-minded Consejos De La Vida. The Cali-based group continue to weave grim and violent narratives on “El Fantasma” and the headstrong “Dicen Que Van A Agarrarme,” each one an anthem for the unafraid. There is a certain defiance prevalent on “500 Matas,” balanced or perhaps countered by the wisdom-laden game-spitting of “Vida Prestada.” One of the project’s few guests, LEGADO 7 trade in their corridos verdes clout for something far more menacing.
