As one of the young talents mentored by A. R. Rahman, Sachin Shankor Mannath brings a level of diversity to the soundtrack of Back Packers that should make his teacher proud. The singer/composer’s suitably dramatic score offers up fusion-rock on “Dil Ye Pagal”, a Hindi song led by Amit Mishra; and brings in Haricharan for the simmering “Kaatin Sadhakamo” as well as the celebratory “Mele Mele”. Carnatic heavyweight Bombay S. Jayashri leads on the breathy “Omanathinkal Kidavo”, and there's playful folk-pop with “Snehithanevide”, “Priya Sakhiyo” and “Janalil Aaro”.
