Progressive psychedelic rock band Medina Azahara established themselves among the leading lights of modern Spanish music in 1979, thanks largely to the melodic motions and weepy guitar riffs of their breakout first single “Paseando Por la Mezquita”. The lively Latin rockers have since also successfully subsumed elements of pop, flamenco, classical and even North African folk into their ever-evolving repertoire. Not surprisingly, today they're recognised as leading figures of the sweeping Rock Andaluz movement that took place during the late '70s and early '80s.
