Releasing his debut album in 2004, Pong Nan has since carved out his own niche in piano-led pop. Drum machine rhythms, emotive synths and the occasional fuzz-filtered guitar bring an endearing variety to his classic Cantopop sound. Underpinned by socially conscious, sometimes political songwriting, his tender vocal delivery manages to be both provocative and heartwarming.
