Lo Ta-You’s Story of Time: Autumn

“Taipei is not my home, my hometown isn't full of neon lights.” The famous line from Lo Ta-You’s 1982 classic “Lukang, The Little Town” sums up an era of urbanisation and homesick people leaving home for work. “The sad feeling of young people leaving home made me write this song about nostalgia and urban-rural disparity,” Lo tells Apple Music, describing the song that anchors his third exclusive playlist as guest curator. And just as autumn hints at the cold to come, his folk ballad “Story of Time” is an acknowledgement of the inevitability of changes in life. Also included here are artists taking inspiration from Lo’s legacy. His creative spirit echoes in the nostalgic indie folk of “Enjoy” by Your Woman Sleep with Others and Koala Liu’s ode to perseverance “Walk in the Cold Wind”.
